A: Yes, baseball is very popular in Japan. The Japanese word for baseball is yakyu. It is played in schools, and there are both amateur and professional baseball leagues for adults. I haven't had a chance to see any games while I've been here, but two other teachers in our group went to a professional yakyu league game on Saturday, and they said it was great.
